get_mot.pl
dipole_find.pl
(get the MOT, tweak the Helmholtz coils to overlap the MOT with dipole trap)
mot_freq.pl
(adjust the AOM frequency, to make the MOT as big as possible), then record the frequency reading;
rerun get_mot.pl, manually adjust the AOM control box to the number recorded

Be Prepared to Interview
Prepare for a phone interview just as you would for a regular interview. Compile a list of your strengths and weaknesses, as well as a list of answers to typical interview questions. In addition, plan on being prepared for a phone conversation about your background and skills.
Keep your resume in clear view, on the top of your desk, or tape it to the wall near the phone, so it’s at your fingertips when you need to answer questions.
Have a short list of your accomplishments available to review.
Have a pen and paper handy for note taking.
Turn call-waiting off so your call isn’t interrupted.
If the time isn’t convenient, ask if you could talk at another time and suggest some alternatives.
Clear the room - evict the kids and the pets. Turn off the stereo and the TV. Close the door. (more…)
Some things to check when there is no MOT:
1, Are lasers locked or not? check both MOT and Repump lasers
2, Are the slave lasers locked or not? Slave laser for Pyramid MOT and the other one for 6-beam MOT laser
3, Is the magnetic field (coils) OK?
4, Is the AOM frequency right?
Overlap the Dipole laser with MOT:
Move the Helmholtz coils to overlap the MOT and dipole laser

Without suits, men would have nothing. In the hierarchy of style, a good suit remains a man’s only trump card. Even in this sad age of casual-wear, the suit still carries an air of success, taste, and sophistication. It is designed to make you look better, to break boundaries between social classes, to make a small man tall with pinstripes or a fat man rich with soft wools. The suit looks good in restaurants, trains, dinner parties or Paris; in short, everywhere you want to be. It is, in its best forms, a complete outfit that will never fail you.
And that is exactly what it will do, if you treat it right. Unfortunately the majority of suits you see look awful. This isn’t necessary. Even if you work ten hours with your jacket on, being mindful of your clothing will keep you ready for cocktails after work. Too many men either don’t care or don’t know how to wear a suit, and, suitably, look like shit. This is worth avoiding. (more…)
